- 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
- 1 large green bell pepper, seeded and sliced into strips
- 1-2 red chilies,sliced (optional)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions:
1.
Marinate the beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with 1 tablespoon
of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, 1 teaspoon of sugar, and 1/2
teaspoon of white pepper. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 20
minutes.
2. Prepare the sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce. Set aside.
3.
Stir-fry the beef: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok or large
skillet over high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until it is
browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set
aside.
4. Stir-fry the
vegetables: Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the
skillet. Add the minced garlic and ginger and stir-fry until fragrant.
Add the sliced green bell pepper and diced red chilies (if using) and
stir-fry until they are tender-crisp.
5.
Combine everything: Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the
vegetables. Pour the prepared sauce over the beef and vegetables.
Stir-fry until the sauce is thickened and evenly coats the beef and
vegetables.
6. Serve: Transfer the stir-fried beef and green peppers to a serving plate. Serve hot with steamed rice.
