Easy Cumin Squid Recipe

Ingredients:

- 1 pound squid, cleaned and cut into rings

- 2 tablespoons olive oil

- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 1 teaspoon cumin powder

- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder (adjust to taste)

- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika

- Salt and pepper to taste

- 1 tablespoon soy sauce

- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup

- Fresh cilantro or parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Squid: Ensure the squid is cleaned and cut into even rings. Pat them dry with paper towels; this helps them to get a good sear.

2. Sauté Garlic: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

3. Add Spices: Add cumin powder, chili powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine with the garlic and oil.

4. Cook the Squid: Add the squid rings to the skillet. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the squid is cooked through and slightly caramelized. Be careful not to overcook, as squid can become rubbery.

5. Add Sauce: Pour in soy sauce and honey (or maple syrup). Stir well to coat the squid evenly with the sauce. Cook for another minute until the sauce thickens slightly.

6. Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with fresh cilantro or parsley. Serve immediately.
